For several years Ole Riber has with love plodded around in Kandestederne, where he was encouraged by the beautiful and peculiar nature to catch a brush and perpetuate the beauty of the place seen with his eyes.

At Hjorths Seaside Hotel we are proud to host an exhibition of his beautiful watercolors in July 2021, where the sea, the beach, the dunes and Råbjerg Mile come to life through Ole’s steady hand.

The exhibition opens with a vernissage on July 3rd at 2 pm, where you will get the chance to talk to the artist.

The exhibition is open from July 4th until July 18th every day from 11 am to 6 pm.

And if you have appetite for more, Hjorths restaurant will be open for lunch every day from 12 pm to 4 pm.

Hjorths Badehotel open up 29th of April for a new enjoyable season.

We believe in good weather, open sky and windy sails.

At Hjorths we do not go up hill or down hill, but slowly ahead towards relaxation filled with presence, immersion and community.

We love food! Again we will offer delicious homemade food with a twist of our history, sourdough bread made with our 23 years old sourdough and furthermore our rye bread based on mother’s recipe is in fact made with a 87 years old sourdough.

We love the sound of happy visitors! Due to this we will continue to ring the bell when it is dinner time at 18.00 pm. and hope that the conversation is encouraged.

Not to make any harm to joy men only as a polite reminder, we will do our best to make everybody secure and pay attention to the current restrictions regarding Corona. This means a valid Corona passport, the use of face masks when standing up, keeping the safe distances and the use of hand sanitiser at all entrances.

Finally this year we will not accept cash to further reduce the risk of infection.

We still love yoga! But the restrictions at this moment do not allow us to offer this, but as soon as possible we will of course make sure to offer yoga.

In week 42 the local artist Jimmi Flyvholm and the wellknown musician Erik Grip will show their art pieces in the barn at Hjorths. Jimmi will show his remarkable sculptures, that represent a meeting between things he finds in the nature, especially old wood shaped by the sea, and his own imagination.

Erik Grip has same kind of relation to nature, where his language is the painting. In these he transforms natures scenaries to his view, which give the paintings a very personal look.

The grand opening will be friday the 11th of October at 1.00 pm., where wine and little bit of food will be served.


Our new head chef Peter Frydkjær loves to be inspired by all the fresh, local commodities such as free range organic forest-chicken from Ajstrup, organic vegetables, flowers, herbs and berries from Knivholt and of course all the wonderful fish caught on daily basis from the surrounding seas.

Due to this we now launch the “autumn feast” every Friday and Saturday in September, where the weekly harvest will be transformed into a 5 course dinner at 495,-.

If you want to go “all-in” we also offer the dinner together with a wine menu, snacks and Prosecco, coffee and home made sweets along with an avec at 1.195,-

Saturday 31 August 14.00 til 16.00 pm there will be a free tasting of Contrattos Aperitif, Bitter & Vermouth rosso. Michel will be mixing Spritz,  Americano and furthermore he will be serving Prosecco produced by the well known Masuret of Valdobbiadene.

In the evening 18.30 pm. an exclusive dinner designed by the highly acclaimed head chef Peter Frydkjær will be served. The dishes are especially made for the wines served, presented by Michel from Adriat.

Zucchini flower filed with souffle of white fish and  Norwegian lobster

Monkfish with crunchy ham, warm tomato salad and fresh herbs from the garden.

Wine: Ca dei Frati i Frati, Lombardy – Italy

Middle course 2:

Steak tatare from deer with organic salads from Knivholt and crunchy crouton of home made rye bread.

Wine: COS Cerasuolo di Vittoria, Sicily – Italy

Main dish:

2 x oxe: tail and tenderloin with fresh vegetables from Knivholt and 2 x sauce: Borderlaise with smoked marrow and sauce bearnaise with herbs from the garden.

Susanne Lidang will publish a new book the 5th of September: “Yoga for the back, neck and shoulders” (yoga for ryg, nakke og skuldre) and gives a lecture at Hjorths Saturday 14/9 – 2019 16.30 – 17.45 pm in our beautiful yoga hall for all levels.

Susanne is known for her previous yoga books (“Vild med yoga” 2015 and “Yoga for løbere – og luntere” 2017) and for her slogan “yoga is a party and you are invited, which shows her fortright attitude concerning giving lectures.

This experience is for everybody and Susanne will guide the participants thoroughly to make sure the best possible result is gained. No matter if you need to be loosened physically or mentally, an yoga experience with Susanne will be optimal for you.

The 2d of August 02.00 PM Mikael from the company, Østjysk Vinforsyning, will be at Hjorths Badehotel to present some of the products from Maison Villeverts amongst others G’vine Floraison and La Quintenye Vermouth in different mixes, organic Walcher Veneziano Spritz and the marvellous rosé from Domaine Ott.
